Immersive paths in urban nature relating to our feelings of belonging and memories of place. Theatre, Circus, visual arts and sound in Collaboration with Oulu University, Acting for Climate, Ampersand Variations and European performing artists.
A series of immersive performances, one each year from 2023-2026, culminating in a larger scale nature path as part of Oulu 2026 culture capital year.

NIGHTTOWN, an immersive performance inspired by Chapter 15 of James Joyce’s famed Ulysses takes over the former Bank of Finland building in Oulu. Shows in November 2023.

Collaboration with Oulu University and Soiva Siili. Creating Arts Education material and live performance for children about climate change. Based on contemporary dance and circus piece Shapes of Water. Project supported by SKR.

Dancing on the Margins of Climate Change - Dance Artists in Barents 2020
Research work and two seminars (research days in Luleå and online virtual research days in Oulu) before releasing our contract due to Corona-related change of schedules and concept.

Growth & A Friend - Work in Progress
Our duo project, Growth and a Friend, is a playful story that gets adults to reflect on the truly painful things in life, from which comes potential for great beauty. We rely on the power of our own intimate experiences to work through ridiculous, grueling and touching moments whilst being thrown in the air. What is the dialogue like in a relationship where everything comes to the surface? We create our performance language from zoomorphism and emotions such as extreme frustration, exploring the use of theater text as a means of emotional expression. We explore the potential of augmented reality projections and live looping technology in a theater setting, seeking new directions for dance & modern circus.
Creation and research supported by Taike grant, Finnish Arts Center 2019 & Oulun Tähtisirkus ry.
